Attention is the bedrock of intentional storytelling. Storytelling in general, but when it is done intentionally, how else can you know if and how you are connecting with your listener if you do not hone your attention skills? It turns out there are many different ways to attend and one of my favorite is "up and back" which you call awe. The open and receptive to surprise and the unexpected. So very true.
